Intro to FOG Abatement

This is a self-paced introductory course designed to help someone new to the business of Fats, Oil, and Grease (FOG). In this module, we’ll discuss what FOG is, the impacts associated with it, and how to prevent it from entering the collection system. At the end of the module, you should have an overall understanding of what FOG is and why we care. The three sections of this course are as follows: 1. Sources and characteristics of FOG discharged into sewer system 2. FOG impacts on POTW collection system, operation and maintenance 3. Prevention and control of FOG discharges from food service establishments and types of grease removal devices
