In-Person Arizona FOG Abatement & PFAS Training

Implementing a successful FOG (fats, oils, and greases) abatement program has proven benefits. Infrastructure will be protected, sanitary sewer overflows can be minimized, and costs to ratepayers will be reduced. We will also cover PFAS/PFOS. Join us for this free technical training funded by EPA.

Time & Location

Feb 01, 2024, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM MST

Phoenix Wastewater Treatment Plant, 2474 S 22nd Ave, Building 31, Phoenix, AZ 85009, USA

About The Event

This 8 hour training will cover the following topics:

1) How to develop an effective FOG Abatement Program.

2) How to implement best practices in both a new and an existing program - with emphasis on data.

3) Dealing with the emerging pollutants, PFAS/PFOS.

The training is conducted in a workshop format, especially for water treatment professionals from small, rural communities that do not have a FOG abatement program or a pretreatment program, or that find their current program inadequate.

Participants will receive 0.8 Wastewater CEUs and a certificate of completion for attending. This training is available at no charge thanks to a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
